With over 30 years' combined experience, Nate and Jen Berggren are experts in the unguarded moments that are bound to unfold during any event. Their distinct ability to anticipate and then discreetly photograph these moments is a result of their emphasis on building relationships. Working alongside clients to discover their unique styles and tastes, Jen and Nate capture natural images that match their clients' personalities.

Though B&G Photography is classified within the genre of photojournalism, Nate and Jen describe themselves as "editorial photojournalists." Influenced by the edginess of street photography and the slickness of fashion photography, their emphasis is on intuitive shots that encapsulate the client and the event.

B&G Photography is based in Los Angeles but available for worldwide travel. As members of the Association of Bridal Consultants, Wedding & Portrait Photographers International, and Wedding Photojournalist Association, Jen and Nate are eagerly growing within the wedding photography community.

Nate has been photographing weddings since 2000, but his photography experience dates back to Christmas 1974 when he was given his first camera. Nate began to develop his creative eye while taking art classes in high school and as a film student at Northwestern University. Working in motion pictures taught him the importance of light and movement in telling a story. Nate further honed his lighting skills working as a fashion and advertising photo assistant, which led him to study commercial photography at Santa Monica College (where he fortuitously met his future wife, Jen).

Originally from Toronto, Jen is among the lucky few to turn an avocation into a vocation. Her interest in photography began at age 15, and she hasn't put her camera down since. In 1999 Jen traveled through Asia with cameras in tow. This trip convinced her to leave the web development world and pursue photography as a career. She immediately enrolled in the commercial photography program at Santa Monica College. Today, Jen is co-owner of B&G Photography, which is fast becoming the studio of choice for California brides.
